Daniel Anderson

Daniel Anderson is a Senior Vice President in the Investment Strategies Group at Vining Sparks, IBG.  In his role he helps depositories with balance sheet management and investment portfolio strategies, as well as evaluation of interest rate risk exposure and strategies for managing liquidity.  Daniel has more than ten years of experience working with community banks and credit unions, primarily in fixed income product areas and asset/liability management.  Prior to joining Vining Sparks, Daniel was an Asset/Liability Analyst from 2010 to 2014 with another regional broker dealer.  He began his career in bond accounting in 2008.  Daniel attended the University of the South in Sewanee, TN. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 2007. Daniel holds the Series 7, 63, and 66 licenses.

Katharine Bray

Katharine joined Vining Sparks in November 2008 and currently serves as director of sales and trading for Vining Sparks Interest Rate Products, LLC. In this role, Katharine oversees marketing, strategy development, trading and post-trade client support. Katharine’s background includes 20 + years of combined capital markets/bank/financial management experience.  Katharine received her undergraduate degree from Averett University with a Bachelor of Science in finance and her MBA from Wake Forest University.

Ricky Brillard, CPA

Ricky Brillard is a Senior Vice President in the Investment Strategies Group at ICBA Securities.  He works with financial institutions on balance sheet strategies, the optimization of investment portfolio returns, and the evaluation of asset/liability exposure, while incorporating the entity’s liquidity needs, risk controls, and capital constraints.  Ricky worked as an auditor for a local public accounting firm for over 5 years where he provided financial statement audit, internal audit, regulatory compliance, and related consulting services for financial institution clients.  Prior to being a public accountant, he was employed by Merrill Lynch where he assisted clients in determining long-term financial goals and implementing financial strategies.  Ricky holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Tennessee.  He is a Certified Public Accountant and a graduate of the Barret Graduate School of Banking.

Dudley Carter

Dudley is an Economist for Vining Sparks, a fixed income broker/dealer serving institutional investors. Dudley writes daily commentary covering the U.S. and global financial markets, as well as foreign economic developments.  He also assists with the projection and publication of Vining Sparks’ economic and interest rate forecasts and contributes to research articles for Vining Sparks. Dudley is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Tennessee and member of the Tennessee Society for Certified Public Accountants. Prior to joining Vining Sparks, Dudley was an audit manager at KPMG LLP, with a focus on the financial services sector.  He graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Master’s degree in Accounting and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minor in Economics.

John Crawford, CFA

John joined Vining Sparks in August 2008 and is responsible for developing and directing business lines that will further enhance the value we bring to our customers. John is currently Director of the Strategic Solutions Group. His responsibilities include directing the teams responsible for investment strategies, balance sheet strategies, interest rate derivatives (which is offered through Vining Sparks Interest Products, LLC), whole loan trading, institutional asset management, and investment banking services. He has over 30 years experience with financial services companies, including positions as Executive Managing Director / Head of Investment Banking at FTN Midwest Securities from 2004 – 2008, EVP / Treasurer of Union Planters Corporation from 2000 – 2004, and various financial and treasury positions over fifteen years with Bank One Corporation. John graduated from Texas Tech University in 1983 with a BBA in Finance and a BBA in Accounting. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA Institute.​​​

Craig Dismuke

Craig Dismuke is Executive Vice President and Chief Economist for Vining Sparks. Craig is responsible for the projection and publication of Vining Sparks’ economic and interest rate forecasts. He publishes research articles for Vining Sparks as well as other national publications. He speaks often at industry conferences on the health of the U.S. economy and expectations for interest rates.  He is a frequent guest on CNBC, Fox Business, and Bloomberg TV as well as being quoted often in the financial news.  Prior to joining Vining Sparks, Craig was a Managing Director in Institutional Fixed Income at Bear Stearns and Company.​​​

Michael Erhardt, CPA

Michael Erhardt is a Senior Vice President in the Investment Strategies Group at Vining Sparks, IBG. He works closely with financial institutions on balance sheet and investment portfolio strategies, liquidity management, evaluation of asset/liability exposure, and liability and loan pricing. Michael has over 18 years of experience with financial institutions, including serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Paragon National Bank from 2004 until 2011.  Prior to joining Paragon, Michael was employed by Enterprise National Bank from 1994 until 2004 where he served as staff accountant, accounting manager and Chief Financial Officer.  Michael holds a Bachelor and Master of Accountancy degree from the University of Mississippi.  He is a certified public accountant and a graduate of Louisiana State University’s Graduate School of Banking.

Mark Evans, CFA

Mark has been with Vining Sparks since 1994 and is currently Director of Trading. Mark previously directed the Investment Strategies Department, a group that provides research and technical assistance to the firm’s customers and sales representatives. Mark has written research reports and developed models for fixed income securities, portfolio management, leveraging strategies, accounting, and regulatory issues. He has written articles for numerous trade publications and serves on the editorial board of Bank Asset/Liability Management. Mark earned his B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Memphis and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.​​​​

Tom Mecredy

Tom is Senior Vice President with Vining Sparks Community Bank Advisory Group in Austin, Texas. The group provides comprehensive financial advisory services to financial institutions throughout the U.S. including merger and acquisition advice, bank stock valuations, and capital formation assistance. He has been involved in over 3,000 bank stock valuations and more than 300 mergers and acquisitions. Moreover, he is a speaker at numerous national and state bank trade association seminars and conventions.​​​​

Marty Mosby

Marty has been a bank research analyst for the past 7 years.  He utilizes his past experience of managing a regional bank to cover 20 of the largest U.S. banks.  Prior to covering banks, Marty was an executive manager at First Horizon National Corporation where over his 20-year career he served as Chief Financial Officer, Head of Investor Relations and Strategic Planning, ALCO Chairperson and Chief Economist. As CFO, Marty guided First Horizon through four years of Sarbanes-Oxley and directed the Treasury, Tax, Controller, M&A, Strategic Planning, and Investor Relations Departments.  He was ranked first by Integrity Research and Investors’ performance, won Bank Analyst Annual Best Investor Relations at a Mid-Cap Bank award twice and was recognized by Investor Relations Magazine for one of the best Roadshows of any mid-sized company.  Marty holds a Masters degree in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelors degree in Economics from the University of Memphis.

Rick Redmond, CMA

Rick has 25 years of experience with large regional banks, with responsibilities including the customer derivative business, interest rate risk management, mortgage servicing hedging, loan pricing, and risk adjusted performance management. Rick has managed derivative positions hedging over $200 billion in assets. He graduated from Auburn University with a BS in Accounting and Finance in 1979 and the BAI Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin in 1992.​​​​​​

Greg Roll, CFA

Greg Roll is a Senior Vice President in the Vining Sparks Loan Trading Group.  Greg began working in the depository sector in 1994 managing the strategic planning function for a regional bank.  Since 2000, Greg has been working in the capital markets helping financial institutions formulate balance sheet strategies that create optimal income and return for shareholders.  Currently he is focused on loan trading strategies to enhance loan portfolio performance, while incorporating the institution’s asset/liability position, liquidity and capital constraints, funding profile, and current market expectations.  Greg attended the University of Oklahoma and The University of Memphis, earning BBA and MBA degrees in finance.  In addition, Greg has earned the CFA designation and is a member of the CFA institute.

Kevin Smith, CFA

Kevin has been with Vining Sparks since 2008 and currently serves as Director of Investment Product Strategies. He focuses on providing timely capital market solutions and delivering valuable tools and services to internal and external stakeholders.  A graduate of Christian Brothers University in Memphis, TN, Kevin earned his degree in Finance and a minor in History.  He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA institute.

Dan Stimpson, CPA

Dan works with portfolio managers to assist them in optimizing their investment portfolio return and risk position, while incorporating the entities liquidity needs, risk controls and capital constraints.  Dan started working in the financial sector in 2001.  Prior to joining Vining Sparks, Dan began his career with KPMG, LLP where he provided accounting and audit services to a variety of industries.  Dan later served as Vice President and Corporate Controller at a community bank.  Dan obtained his undergraduate and graduate degrees in accounting from the University of Mississippi.  In addition, Dan is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the American Institute and Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants.

David Visinsky

David joined the Loan Trading Group of Vining Sparks in November 2008. In the last four years the Group has traded over $ billion in loan participations across various asset classes – vehicles, residential, MBLs and other niche products. Previously, he spent five years in investment banking for financial institutions where he advised on over $200 million in M&A transactions and raised over $1 billion in capital. Prior to that, he was in the Treasury Department for a $35 billion regional bank doing treasury and asset/liability management. David received his MBA with concentration in Finance and Operations from Vanderbilt University and a BBA in Finance from Southern Methodist University.

Wade Walker

Wade joined Vining Sparks in October 2008 to develop and manage Loan Trading. The Loan Trading desk was established to help financial institutions manage their loan portfolios, including residential, commercial, and consumer loans. Mr. Walker brings over 20 years experience in fixed-income capital markets, with extensive background in mortgage sales and securitizations. He has brokered over $5 billion of loan packages and acted as lead underwriter on $20 billion of CMO/ABS deals. His experience on both the buy-side and sell-side allows Mr. Walker to help clients through the nuances of loan transactions. Mr. Walker holds an MBA from the University of Utah.​​​

Tommy Warren, CPA

Tommy joined Vining Sparks in May 2017 and is responsible for marketing and sales for Vining Sparks Interest Rate Products, LLC.  Prior to joining VSIRP, Tommy served as the CFO for numerous financial institutions in Georgia and South Carolina.  He has over 30 years of financial institution experience and has been the CFO of community banks, savings and loans, and credit unions.  His areas of expertise include asset/liability management, oversight of the investment portfolio, and optimization of liquidity.  Prior to entering the industry, Tommy worked for an international accounting firm.  Tommy graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of South Carolina and is a Certified Public Accountant.
